Why Your Patients Keep Returning To Your Practice

A+ A- A Main Content

Why Your Patients Keep Returning To Your Practice In order to keep your patients returning to your practice, you first need to know why they’ll keep returning to your practice! Your salesperson will likely say that your patients want the most up-to-date technology, your marketing specialist will tell you that offering half-off deals will keep them coming back and you probably feel that allowing your patients to be in charge of your schedule is all they really want!

How To Retain Patients

The truth is that all of the above ideas can have a negative impact on your business and your reputation. In reality, the most important thing you can do to keep your patients coming back is to earn their loyalty, listen to their problems and suggestions, and give them the best treatment possible.

In addition to quality dentistry, your patients will also expect (and deserve!) the best customer service you have to offer. If they receive it, they’ll return to you time and time again. Take the time to really connect with and get to know your patients. This will instill a feeling of loyalty to you and your practice.

Your patient should have an excellent experience at your office from start to finish. Ask yourself and your staff these questions to make sure each patient is receiving quality care:

  • Are phone calls answered with a friendly and positive voice?
  • Are we able to answer all of our patients’ questions?
  • Do we greet every patient in the office with a smile?
  • Are patients seen promptly? If not, do we give an explanation as to why we’re running behind?
  • Do our hygienists seem rushed or were they friendly?
  • Does our dentist always introduce him or herself and make sure to speak to the patient about questions, comments, or concerns?

These are the factors that can make or break your customer service! Each member of your dental team should be going above and beyond to ensure a positive experience for every patient.
